This week the Theatre Department will present "String of Pearls," the first in a series of four plays it is producing under the banner "Look at Us", an initiative to encourage the community to re-engage with University theatre.

"We want the entire University population - and beyond - to see what exciting work our company of actors, designers and technicians are doing," says Kathleen Irwin, head of the Theatre Department.  "They are putting themselves on the line. This is not film, video, television or the internet - these are real bodies and the action is live."

"String of Pearls" follows the story of a fated necklace that changes the lives of more than two dozen characters. Their stories twist and turn through a myriad of emotional turmoil-love, loss, desire-as the necklace touches the lives of all who come into contact with it.
