The Global Learning Centre (GLC) provides academic and language support to the University of Regina’s international students. This spring session, English Language Coach Cheryl Ashton has been busy with a non-stop schedule of students eager to receive help with their studies and opportunities to practice their communication skills. Students studying at all levels, from the English as a Second Language program to Ph.D candidates, and in all faculties, from Business Administration to Engineering, can receive one-on-one instruction in a personalized and relaxed atmosphere. Whether students want help with editing a research paper, advice on a PowerPoint presentation, suggestions to help them remember grammar rules, or engagement in a lively conversation, they will find the support they need at the GLC. Forty-five minute appointments are available as a free service to individuals, pairs, or groups and can be made at the UR International Office (CW 109). The GLC would like to encourage all international students studying at the U of R to drop by and allow the staff to help them meet their educational and personal goals.
