U of R Chamber Singers to perform in showroom
The Old Warehouse District Association in Regina has invited the University of Regina Music Department back for more.

The U of R Chamber Singers will be performing in the Capitol Pontiac-Buick showroom on Wednesday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m.

"We think this series is a terrific start to a new kind of partnership between business and the arts," said Pauline Minevich, head of the music department. "The Old Warehouse District Association is trying to foster a sense of adventure and experimentation in a new cultural area, and it's a great opportunity for our students to bring their music to new audiences."

The Chamber Singers will be performing a piece by U of R alumnus Elizabeth Raum. Written especially for the occasion, the composition celebrates the official launch of new Buick vehicles.

Last December, the New Music in the District series featured a concert at Bushwakker Brew Pub. U of R faculty members performed music composed by Elizabeth Raum and David McIntyre. The event was such a success that the Old Warehouse wanted to follow up with more concerts. A CD recording of the Bushwakker concert will be launched at Bushwakker's in April.
