New festival in Regina features locally and nationally renowned musicians
Come celebrate Canada’s thriving music scene by attending one of the many concerts taking place in Regina as part of
a week-long festival celebrating and showcasing Canadian music.
“Living Music Under Living Skies” is sponsored by the Department of Music and Faculty of Fine Arts at the
University of Regina. It will be comprised of a series of seven concerts to take place in various locations throughout the
city starting Feb. 11, and feature a variety of locally and nationally renowned musicians.
The festival is the brainchild of Regina composers David McIntyre and Elizabeth Raum, U of R Department of Music members
Dr. Pauline Minevich and Dr. Alain Perron, and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s classical music producer Shauna
Powers. Over 50 local performers will take part in “Living Music Under Living Skies,” including the U of R
Chamber Singers, Canticum Novum, the U of R New Music Ensemble and the U of R Composition Ensemble.
Solo and chamber performers include Karen Finnsson, Richard Raum, Eduard Minevich, Pauline Minevich, Brent Ghiglione, David
McIntyre, Sophie Bouffard and Lynn Channing.
Festival passes may be purchased at Cobb Swanson, Bach & Beyond, and Long and McQuade in Regina for $30 for general
admission or $20 for high school students/seniors. Single tickets will be available at the various events. Some events are
