University of Regina students learn from business leaders
Leadership students from the Paul J. Hill School of Business are presenting the third and final speaker of the "Business Briefs: Leaders in the Community Lecture Series" on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the University of Regina Education Building, room 623.  President of Paul Martin Communications, Mr. Paul Martin, will share his experiences and perspectives on leadership.

Paul Martin is a mainstay in Saskatchewan business and political writing. For more than a quarter century, his journalism career has spanned radio, television and print media. He currently provides daily commentary on 15 radio stations province-wide, hosts talk shows on the local cable network and provides written commentary for business and other print publications.

Martin's unique blend of communications and business knowledge has prompted companies across the country to seek his advice on communications strategies and implementation in Saskatchewan. In the past three years, his client base has grown by over 2000 per cent.

He is in great demand as a public speaker and master of ceremonies throughout Saskatchewan and western Canada. People are drawn to his ability to humanize business challenges and to his overwhelming belief that Saskatchewan's growth potential is rooted in smart business.

The "Business Leaders in the Community" lecture series is part of a course that focuses on teaching students how to become business leaders through practical experience. It is designed to make students aware of the different roles leaders play in business and the community, and to provide the skills required to play these leadership roles. In class, leadership knowledge and theory is taught through lectures, and students also get the opportunity to apply what they've learned through the formation of student committees.
