Saskatchewan Blue Cross continues support toward the Love2Live Program

A generous on-going gift from Saskatchewan Blue Cross will support a disease prevention program at the University
of Regina. The $100,000 donation will continue to fund the Saskatchewan Blue Cross Love2Live Program at the Dr. Paul
Schwann Applied Health and Research Centre.
"The Dr. Paul Schwann Centre is one of the key ways through which our University reaches out into our community,
by educating and working with those who have or are at risk for chronic disease," said University of Regina
President Dr. Vianne Timmons. "Focusing on exercise therapy and workplace wellness, as well as cardiac
rehabilitation and chronic disease and risk reduction programs such as the Love2Live Program, is making a difference
in our community thanks to Saskatchewan Blue Cross."
The program helps individuals in Southern Saskatchewan control and reduce risk factors for cardiovascular disease as
well as prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, and stroke. The
program consists of exercise therapy and educational sessions promoting healthy lifestyle practices for
Saskatchewan's at-risk population, ranging from school-age children to elders.
