Students, faculty, and staff at the University of Regina will be taking a stand against bullying by wearing pink on April 9. It’s part of a national campaign by the Canadian Red Cross to imagine a world with no bullying.

To help with the campaign 100 pink t-shirts have been distributed to student ambassadors and other leaders at the University of Regina, who will be wearing them on the Red Cross Day of Pink, April 9.

The Day of Pink initiative began in 2007 after two high school students in Nova Scotia asked their peers to wear pink to school after a male classmate had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The Canadian Red Cross brings together schools and communities to wear pink shirts as a way of standing together against bullying and ensuring that every child is treated with respect.

Take a stand against bullying on Wednesday, April 9, by wearing pink. And please join us in working hard every day of the year to ensure our University is a respectful and safe environment for all students, faculty, staff and other members of the public.
