Fifteen professors from Anhui University are on campus to take a summer program about teaching and learning methods delivered by UR International and the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).

“We chose the University of Regina to develop this summer program due to our long-lasting relationship and collaborations and to its advanced education curriculum,” said Li Donghe, a professor from the College of Business Administration at Anhui University. “The academic environment in post-education in Canada is unique and we are excited to learn innovative teaching and learning methods and strategies to apply them in China.”

The professors will engage in a three-week professional development training program with 3.5 hours of daily instruction.

The classes will be delivered by twenty U of R instructors who will teach subjects including: Canadian culture, education in Canada, Canada’s role in education about sustainable development, academic integrity, teaching large classes, open access educational resources, student-faculty engagement and executive training. In addition to instruction the program includes classroom observations, field trips and cultural activities.

“Both UR International and the CTL have proven that the University of Regina is a top destination for international faculty to learn more about scholarly teaching and learning,” said Dr. Dena McMartin, Associate Vice-President (Academic and Research) at the University of Regina. “The University of Regina is pleased to welcome our visitors from China, who are part of the University's longest held tradition of international collaborations.”
