The University of Regina community is raising money in a variety of ways to support the work of the United Way. Through the United Way the money raised will help numerous agencies that ultimately ensure a healthy future for everyone in Regina.

This year, one of the main initiatives of the United Way is to improve the educational outcomes of children in Regina under the “All That Kids Can Be” campaign.

In addition to more traditional methods of fundraising - including pledge forms for one-time, monthly or pay period gifts - organizers are also hosting numerous events and activities on campus.

Among this year’s fund-raising activities are a miniature golf tournament among the executive team as well as yoga and fitness classes for the university community.

“This is a great community-based organization that provides funding for numerous partners with the goal to improve our community,” explains Pat Patton, co-chair of this year’s United Way appeal at the University of Regina.

Fellow co-chair Bruce Anderson encourages campus to give.

“Many people - including staff and students - may have opportunity to benefit from the United Way, and we hope that people will consider giving what they can,” says Anderson.

This year’s goal is $105,000 – and as of Oct 17, $40,752.55 has been raised.

The campaign continues until Oct. 31, 2014.
