The Hill School of Business is hosting the fourth annual High School Business Case Competition April 30 and May 1 on the Universitiy of Regina campus.

The event, run by the Saskatchewan Business Teachers' Association, involves 13 high schools from Saskatchewan and Manitoba. There are 72 students participating along with 20 teachers. Judging is provided by 25 volunteers from the business community and the Hill School of Business.

“The event has grown consistently from its early years with many more students, teachers, sponsors and industry participating,” says Joel Graham, president of the High School Business Case Competition. “Next year we are excited to bring in high school teams from around the globe to the event. We have already had interest from South Korea and the United States. The future of Business Education in Saskatchewan is very bright!”

The event is based on the university JDC West Case Competition, and has students breaking down and presenting personal finance and entrepreneurship cases to a panel of judges.

The primary goals of the competition are:
•    To raise awareness for youth on the topics of financial literacy and entrepreneurship
•    To increase the participation of high school students in Business Education courses
•    To showcase elite student's business knowledge in an advanced learning environment

Regina's Campbell Collegiate is the three-time Business School of the Year and will be attempting to defend its title this week.

The 2015 Keynote speaker is Eric Dillon, CEO of Conexus Credit Union. The event is a reality thanks to the sponsorship of Conexus Credit Union, the Hill School of Business, the Edwards School of Business and the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
