The University of Regina’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science recently celebrated a gift from Dr. Jack Mollard – a former adjunct lecturer and prominent philanthropic engineer – with a plaque unveiling honouring geotechnical pioneers and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Mollard has donated more than $100,000 toward establishing the Dr. Jack Mollard Sensing the Earth Scholarship and the Dr. Jack Mollard Sensing the Earth Tour.

"The Faculty is honoured to be associated with Dr. Mollard, a pioneer and a role model,” says Dr. Esam Hussein, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. “Dr. Mollard's contribution is not only monetary but is most importantly a reminder to us and to future generations of the importance of innovation, hard work, commitment and professionalism.”

Over the span of 60 years, Dr. Mollard has accomplished a significant amount of professional achievements while generously helping many University of Regina students in other ways; authoring three textbooks and donating many of them to students and donating rare aerial photos of terrain – now used as visual teaching aids in the Environmental Engineering program.
