University of Regina Holds Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women Symposium

Media are invited to attend the University of Regina symposium on murdered and missing Aboriginal women March 24 – 27, 2015.

Three one hour symposium panels will examine how learning about issues related to missing and murdered Aboriginal women is being incorporated at the University.  A day long World Cafe on March 27 will bring together concerned organizations and individuals to examine current efforts and develop new recommendations and approaches to address this issue.

• Panel 1 (March 24 @ 1:00pm – 2:00pm) - How are we teaching about Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women in the Liberal Arts? FNUniv Student Common Area, First Nations University of Canada
• Panel 2 (March 25 @ 11:30am – 12:30pm) – How are we teaching about Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women in the Professional Programs? RC 286, Riddell Centre, University of Regina
• Panel 3 (March 26 @ 2:00pm – 3:00pm) – How are we learning about Missing and Murdered Aboriginal women in our Undergraduate and Graduate studies? A student panel.  CW 117, College West Building, University of Regina
• World Cafe Event (March 27 9:00am – 3:00pm) - This day-long event will encourage discussion, creativity, and action planning with community members and individuals committed to social action. Wesley United Church, 3913 Hillsdale Street
