University of Regina faculty recognized for excellence

The University of Regina Alumni Association (URAA) announced today the recipients of the 2015 Faculty Awards for Excellence. This year’s recipients are:

  • Dr. Thomas Hadjistavropoulos (Psychology), who receives the University of Regina Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Graduate Research Mentorship.
  • Dr. Gordon Huang (Engineering), who receives the University of Regina Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Research.
  • Dr. Janis Dale (Geology), who receives the University of Regina Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Teaching.

University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vianne Timmons noted that the three recipients are remarkable examples of leadership and dedication to students and research.

“Drs. Dale, Hadjistavropoulos and Huang represent the best of our University, and their accomplishments are truly extraordinary,” said Timmons. “Through their dedication to teaching, mentoring and research, these three faculty members have a tremendous impact on the lives of students and members of the larger community. I want to thank them for their continued dedication to our University, our students, and our collective vision to be one of Canada’s leading comprehensive universities.”

The Alumni Association’s Faculty Awards for Excellence have been awarded each year since 1990, together with the University of Regina. The Awards celebrate the achievements of the University’s most accomplished faculty in the areas of teaching, research, service (not awarded in 2015), and graduate research  mentorship.
