Showcase highlights community-university research collaborations

Media Advisory Release Date: November 5, 2015 10:00 a.m.

Members of the media are invited to attend the 2015 Community-Based Research Showcase, a public forum highlighting Community-University research collaborations currently taking place in and around Regina.

Presented by the University of Regina’s Community Research Unit and Heritage Saskatchewan, the Showcase will feature sixteen research presentations from various project leaders, focusing for instance, on First Nations art as a means of suicide prevention, the enhancement of resettlement services for immigrants to Regina, and the prevention of local cooking fire incidents, among others.

This all-day event is an opportunity to learn about the research projects currently underway between researchers at the University of Regina/University of Saskatchewan and community groups, non profit organizations, and public sector organizations based in Saskatchewan, and to discover how such collaboration is leading to research-based actions that are bettering local communities.

Friday, November 6, 2015
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
