Graduates of the Campus For All program are now full members of the University of Regina Alumni Association family.

The Alumni Association recently voted in favour of full inclusive membership for Campus For All.

“We are pleased to welcome Campus for All graduates to our alumni family” says Kaytlyn Barber, President of the U of R Alumni Association. “Our membership recognizes the hard work Campus for All students invest to achieve their Certificate of Inclusive Post-Secondary Education. We are excited to have these graduates join us as full U of R alumni members.”

Campus For All is a four-year inclusive post-secondary education experience for adults with an intellectual disability.

The program offers students the opportunity to audit classes, improve literacy and establish social connections with fellow students.

“We’re extremely excited over the outcome of the Alumni Association’s motion,” says Faith Savarese, Coordinator for Campus For All, which is part of the Centre for Student Accessibility. ”We’re so grateful for all the people who voiced their support in favour of inclusive membership.”

Campus For All is making a difference in Regina and is receiving recognition abroad. Recently, a delegation from universities and colleges in Japan visited the campus to learn more about the program.

“This outcome of the vote is a testament to the truly inclusive culture on the University of Regina Campus,” says Savarese. “We would like to extend our congratulations to all of the new alumni who will now be able to enjoy full status. To our knowledge, it is the first time that a four-year inclusive post-secondary initiative has received full alumni membership at a Canadian university.”
