Abstract:
A compact, manually-powered device for removing corn kernels from the cob, without damage, has been designed for the developing world. Traditional processes are time-consuming and labour-intensive, resulting in repetitive strain injuries, and preventing poverty-stricken people from pursuing other opportunities. This proof-of-concept device is constructed from readily-available, third world materials and is designed to be easy to operate and maintain.
