Abstract

In conversations between males and females, you often hear, “That’s not what I said!” only to be followed by, “But that’s what I heard!” Some suggest that women and men have a difficult time communicating because we speak different languages or come from different planets. Anthropology professor Diane Riskedahl will explore differences in the speaking styles of North American men and women in her talk, “Women and men: Different words, different worlds?” The final installment of this season’s popular Coffee House Controversies series will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Mar. 16 at Chapters Bookstore behind the Southland Mall (2625 Gordon Road).
