Abstract

Children who experience difficulty walking because of conditions such as spina bifida and cerebral palsy, and people who have knee replacement surgery will benefit from gait analysis work being done at the University of Regina's Neuromechanical Research Centre in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies. "Neuromechanical" refers to how the brain controls the mechanics of movement. The Neuromechanical Centre at the U of R is the only place in Saskatchewan undertaking computerized gait analysis to assess how people walk.
