Abstract

Maps are often used to display census data such as simple population counts and socioeconomic factors such as age, structure, migration or unemployment rates. Dr. Julia Siemer, an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Regina, will deliver the latest Coffee House Controversies lecture on Thursday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Chapters bookstore behind the Southland Mall (2625 Gordon Road). Siemer's talk will discuss the challenge of displaying census and other population data in a meaningful way by means of various thematic maps.
