Abstract

As part of an ongoing partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, the University of Regina is working to accommodate a number of evacuees from the Red Earth First Nation, located 225 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert. According to a report from the province's fire management branch, Saskatchewan has 121 active wildfires – 52 that are larger than 100 hectares. Hundreds of people have been evacuated from the Saskatchewan communities threatened by fires. On Tuesday, June 30, evacuated families will arrive on campus to stay in the University residences.
