Abstract

An engineering professor at the University of Regina is looking at ways of making a transition to a cleaner environment. “Traditionally, we use fossil fuel as the main energy source, which leads to emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gas. Now, these emissions must be mitigated due to a variety of environmental concerns. A ‘clean-energy transition’ means a transition from the use of traditional fossil fuels to cleaner and renewable energy - with significantly reduced air pollutants and greenhouse gases,” explains Dr. Gordon Huang, a professor of Environmental Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities.
