FNUniv is a unique Canadian institution that specializes in Indigenous knowledge, providing post-secondary education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students alike within a culturally supportive environment.

Over the past 30 years, the students, staff and faculty in the Indigenous Communications Arts (INCA) department at FNUniv (formerly Saskatchewan Indian Federated College) has produced an extensive collection of materials collected in avariety of audio and video formats. These materials include Elder interviews, traditional teachings, materials recorded with language keepers, academic and culture conferences, events, speeches, and presentations. In order to preserve this rich history, this project was realized as part of the Library and Archives Canada Listen, Hear Our Voices initiative / Ce projet a été réalisé dans le cadre de l’initiative Écoutez pour entendre nos voix de Bibliothèqueet Archives Canada, who graciously provided funding to First Nation University of Canada in order to preserve this rich history and make available for future research by students, faculty, and community members.
