"Traces" Art Exhibition by Dr. Meral Per

Abstract:
Dr. Meral Per is a graduate of the Department of Fine Arts Education of the Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University in Turkey. She holds a masters degree, majoring in Graphic Design, and a PhD degree from Marmara University, focusing her studies on the relationship between the student’s colour choice on their paintings and their personality types. Dr. Per is currently on the University of Regina – Visiting Professor Program in our Faculty of Education.

With her exhibition “Traces”, the artist has been establishing a social relation between the past and the present getting inspired by the cultural symbols of Anatolia that historically hosted many different civilizations. In this relation she examines the temporal transformation between human and culture, coming forward in textural structure. Real objects used in local motifs have been reflected by today's artistic expression.
