CLUB 2005 inspires community to give to Games
The Building Dreams and Futures campaign today announced a new community support initiative for the 2005 Canada Summer Games: CLUB 2005. 

"CLUB 2005 provides a way for community members to support the Games financially and help make young athletes' dreams come true," said University of Regina President David Barnard. "We encourage individuals and businesses to become members and show their pride in the community as we host the 2005 Canada Summer Games." 

There are three levels of CLUB membership: $2005, $1005, and $205. Each level offers donors unique benefits, including: 
· Free passes to the opening and closing ceremonies, with select CLUB  2005 seating 
· Free passes to Games events
· A special 2005 Canada Summer Games pin 
· A CLUB 2005 window flag
· Discounts on unique 2005 Canada Summer Games clothing items
· An invitation to an exclusive CLUB 2005 member reception
· The great feeling of knowing you're helping young athletes' dreams         come true.

The 2005 Canada Summer Games is one of the fundraising priorities of the University of Regina's Building Dreams and Futures campaign. The campaign is raising $10 million toward the Games.

"The Canada Games is truly a community event, and as such, we depend on the citizens of Regina and surrounding areas to ensure our success," said 2005 Canada Summer Games President Bob Ellard. "We invite the members of our community to join CLUB 2005 and become personal stakeholders in this exciting event."

The 2005 Canada Summer Games will take place from August 6 to 20. The Games will attract 4,500 athletes and 12,000 visitors to Regina and surrounding communities, and will involve nearly 6,000 volunteers.

Building Dreams and Futures is an ambitious campaign to raise funds for five priority areas of the University of Regina: the 2005 Canada Summer Games, student support, research support, the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport, and emerging priorities. The projects and activities planned for those areas will cost a total of $75 million. Funds are being raised from a variety of sources, including donations from individuals, corporations, and community organizations.
