University Industry Liaison Office restructured
Allan Cahoon, University of Regina Vice-President (Research & International), has restructured the University Industry
Liaison Office (UILO), appointing former director Gordon Owen to the role of Senior Technology Advisor and naming Bob Schad
as Acting Director of Industry Liaison, effective May 1.
In his new role, Owen will provide technology transfer expertise and advice, including providing assistance with the
protection of intellectual property to faculty, students and associated institutes and their researchers.
Owen will also develop protocols and commercialization procedures and processes for the proposed Technology Innovation
Centre (TIC). The TIC represents an exciting new opportunity to work with the community in developing technologies for
commercialization at the University.
Schad will assume leadership of the UILO office on a half time basis, and will be responsible for working with researchers,
administrators, students and the community in developing partnerships and enhancing relationships for technology
transfer.
