High school students learn about university life
The University of Regina will host 300 high school students at UR Connected! 2007 on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

UR Connected - the University's annual “open house” for Grade 12 students, their parents and high school guidance counsellors - is usually held in the fall. This year, however, in addition to the fall session, the U of R will launch a new event to pique the post-secondary interests of grade 10 and 11 students from across the province.

This exciting event will give Grade 10 and 11 students a chance to explore possible career choices and the many degree options at the U of R, as well as to connect with other students from all parts of Saskatchewan.

The first 300 students who register, along with an unlimited number of parents and guidance counsellors can attend the event. Registration begins at the Centre for Kinesiology and Health Studies at 12:30, with the opening presentation at 1:30. Students will then explore career possibilities by attending a session on career planning and breakout sessions on careers in seven different areas of study.

The afternoon also includes a campus tour and a scavenger hunt for students, an information session for parents and guidance counsellors, and a reception sponsored by Campion and Luther Colleges.

Registration for this event is mandatory and can be completed online at There is no registration deadline but registrations will be taken on a first come first served basis.
