Universities and CUPE 1975 reach tentative agreement
Conciliation talks between the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan and CUPE 1975 have concluded with the signing of a Tentative Agreement.

During nearly two days of conciliation in Regina, the universities fully explored the two outstanding issues through the conciliator, Doug Forseth. The universities proposed that the unresolved issues be sent to a binding arbitration process with an immediate return to work agreement negotiated by the parties. Both universities and CUPE 1975 have committed to moving quickly to ratify the Tentative Agreement.

"We are pleased that that the two bargaining committees were able to reach a Tentative Agreement today," said Jim Tomkins, President of the University of Regina. "With a negotiated return to work agreement also in place, CUPE 1975 employees will be back at work on Monday, December 3. Over the next few days, operations at the University of Regina will begin returning to normal. During that time, we ask everyone in the university community for your continued patience."

As details about services at the University of Regina become available, they will be posted on the University website www.uregina.ca.
