The University of Regina Cheerleading Team is hosting their 7^th Annual Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in the main gym at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and competition begins at 12 noon.

The competition is the largest in Saskatchewan and will feature about 600 competitors representing elementary and high schools from across Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Athletes ranging from Grades 2 to 12 will compete in dance, cheerleading and jump categories. 

The national championship winning University of Regina cheerleading team will demonstrate their routine at the end of the day. 

Tickets are available at the door and admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children under six will be admitted free of charge. The competition is sponsored by Track ‘n Trail. Supporters are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Regina Food Bank.
