Canada's Law and Order Agenda: Tough on Crime?
Recent changes to the Criminal Code of Canada and the Youth Criminal Justice Act will be discussed at a public forum on Tuesday, March 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Education Auditorium at the University of Regina.

The event is being hosted by the Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatchewan and the Social Policy Research Unit (SPR), Faculty of Social Work at the U of R.

The forum will explore the impact of the changes on recidivism, deterrence, rehabilitation and those most likely to be affected.

A panel of six people will take part in the forum, and encourage audience participation in discussing who and what is criminalized, and exploring alternative approaches to incarceration.

Speakers include: Ailsa M. Watkinson, professor of Social Work, U of R; Hirsch Greenberg, Justice Studies, U of R; Bonnie Morton, Regina Anti-Poverty Ministry; Raven Sinclair, Indigenous People's Health Research Centre, U of R; Danielle Dahlem and Jay Smith, Regina Alternative Measures Program (RAMP).
