UR X-Celerating Summer Experience launched at the University of Regina
The Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina is offering UR X-Celerating Summer Experience, a 3.0 credit hour course for high school students offered through the Accelerated Student Program.  High school students will have an opportunity to take Geography 100 and learn about human and natural environments from a geographical perspective.

"The selected students will be able to experience campus life by living in residence, explore program options and activities offered at the U of R, go on field trips, attend fun activities, meet other students from around the province and most of all, have a smooth transition into first year university," says Blaise Boehmer, Program Co-ordinator at the Centre for Continuing Education.  "The students will develop leadership skills, improved academic skills, career focus and direction."

Students can apply if they are entering grade 12 in the fall of 2009 and are 16 years or older (or home-based learners) with a 75% average.  There are 10 scholarships of $500 that will be awarded to students based on academic achievement and financial need.

The deadline date for application is May 1, 2009.
