University of Regina enrolment increases

Statistics released today show an overall increase of 222 students attending the University of Regina. Enrolment at the U of R is up 1.9 per cent compared to the fall of 2008. This increase follows slight decreases during the past few years.

"We are pleased to see an increase in our overall enrolment numbers," says Barb Pollock, vice-president of external relations. "This is a tangible result of our Strategic Enrolment Management plan that the University recently developed. Our team at the University will continue to build on this by increasing recruitment activities," adds Pollock.

For annual comparisons, enrolment numbers are released after the fourth week of classes because students may add or drop classes during the first few weeks.

There is an increase of 212 undergraduate and 10 graduate students registered at the U of R this year.
