More than 140 employers seeking U of R graduates at annual Careers Day

Organizations from across Canada and beyond will be recruiting University of Regina students at the annual University of Regina Careers Day 2010. This will be the largest Careers Day ever, with 140 employers attending the event. They will be looking for students from every faculty across campus, for full-time, part-time, temporary and career positions.

The event will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the U of R Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport.

"The University of Regina has a long and proud history of providing education that's relevant to the workplace," says President Vianne Timmons. "Our annual Careers Day is another way we help our students find employment in their chosen field and build lasting careers. Careers Day also demonstrates the strong connections between the U of R and the larger community - locally, nationally and internationally."

Careers Day 2010 allows employers to promote their organization to the U of R community and recruit students and graduates. Students will be exposed to various types of career choices.

About 5,000 students and alumni are expected to attend Careers Day 2010.

The title sponsor of the event is SaskTel, and other sponsors include Meyers Norris Penny, Nexen and SaskPower.
