The Canadian Library Association (CLA) has awarded University of Regina’s Cara Bradley the 2014 Robert H. Blackburn Distinguished Paper Award for her 2013 paper entitled, “Information Literacy Articles in Science Pedagogy Journals”.

Bradley’s paper analyzed the prevalence of articles related to information literacy in the 15 highest-impact science pedagogy journals during a ten year period from 2002-11.

"I was really honoured to be named the recipient of this award because it draws attention to my research area, information literacy, which is more important today than ever before," says Bradley. "At the same time, it demonstrates that University of Regina librarians are among the leading academic researchers in our field in Canada."

The Robert H. Blackburn Distinguished Paper Award is named for Dr. Blackburn, the first President of Canadian Association of College and University Libraries (1963-64). The award annually recognizes notable research published by Canadian Library Association Members. The Award will be presented at the CLA closing ceremonies on May 31 during the CLA National Conference and Trade Show in Victoria B.C.
