The University of Regina achieved record enrolments over the spring and summer semesters.  Enrolments were up eight percent from 2013, representing a 41 percent growth in enrolment during these semesters over the last ten years.

“The growth in Spring and Summer enrolments is a clear reflection both of the work we have done to adapt to changing student needs, and of the growth we have seen on our campus over the past several years,” said Dr. Vianne Timmons, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Regina. “By offering additional online courses and enabling more students to take night classes, we have placed a strong emphasis on flexible learning – something that has been well-received by our students and has helped make the best possible use of our facilities throughout the entire year.”

Enrolment for online courses during the spring/summer term has more than quadrupled since 2010, from 459 students in 2010 to 2118 students in 2014. Students are also taking more night classes during the summer, with over nine percent growth since 2010 in how many students are enrolled in evening courses during these semesters.

In total, 6,516 students were registered for one or more credits in the spring and summer terms.  These students registered for nearly 33,500 credit hours.
