For the third year in a row, PotashCorp has contributed $150,000 to the University of Regina Athletics program. The funds will be used to enhance the program offerings for each of the University of Regina’s 16 varsity teams.

“PotashCorp has been a strong supporter of our athletics programs for several years, so it was fitting that this gift was announced in the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport where so many of our student-athletes compete,” said President Vianne Timmons. “These students represent the best of our University, and by supporting them, PotashCorp is making a real difference in their lives and a tremendous investment in the future of our province.”

“This contribution from PotashCorp enables our teams to enhance their programs in ways that otherwise would not be possible, including strengthened non-conference competition, increased academic support services, and additional training opportunities - all critical elements in successful CIS programs,” said Acting Director of Athletics, Curtis Atkinson. “This contribution puts our teams in a better position to experience success in competition and in the classroom.  We thank PotashCorp for their ongoing commitment to developing leaders."

This contribution follows similar contributions in 2013 and 2014 to the University of Regina which now totals $450,000.

As identified in the University of Regina’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, peyak aski kikawinaw, commitment to our student success is one of the three strategic pillars that align with the generous gift from PotashCorp.
