Ambassador of Czech Republic coming to campus

The public is invited to a presentation by his Excellency Pavel Hrnčíř, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Canada, October 8, at the University of Regina. The event is hosted by UR International.

Ambassador Hrnčíř will talk about academic opportunities in Czech Republic, as well as provide information about Prague, the formation of the Czech Republic and its current status.

Mr. Hrnčíř’s official visit to our Campus will include a tour of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre to learn about current research projects.
The University of Regina has previously established student exchange agreements with academic institutions in the Czech Republic.  

“We are so pleased to have Ambassador Hrnčíř on campus. We are looking forward to further strengthening our relationship with the Czech Republic and building on our existing academic partnerships and cultural relationships,” says Livia Castellanos, Director of UR International.  

Mr. Hrnčíř was appointed Ambassador to Canada in February 2015. Some of his previous positions include Deputy Director of Policy Planning Department; Head of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the council of Europe in Strasbourg; and Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris.  

Mr. Hrnčíř’s presentation is open to students, faculty, staff and the public, and will be followed by a question and answer session.

This is part of the University of Regina’s Ambassador Speaking Series. Throughout the academic year, the series of public events will showcase Ambassadors from multiple countries.
