University promotes inclusive employment at the University of Regina

Media Advisory Release Date: November 4, 2015 8:30 a.m.

Media are invited to attend an event promoting inclusive employment, featuring guest speaker Mark Wafer and sponsored by the University of Regina, SaskTel and Greystone Managed Investments.

Wafer is the owner of six Tim Hortons locations in Toronto. Over the past 20 years he has employed 118 people with disabilities and co-founded Canada’s national strategy on Canadian Business SenseAbility. He is a member of Ontario’s Lieutenant Governors Accessibility team, Ontario’s Economic Development Partnership Council, and an inaugural member of Ontario’s Champion’s League.

Wafer will speak on the business case for inclusive employment. Additionally, the event will promote 4to40, an initiative to connect people experiencing disability with forward-thinking employers who embrace a flexible 4 to 40 hour work week. 4to40 was created as a partnership between Creative Options Regina, a non-profit organization that develops personalized support services for people experiencing disability, and Campus For All, an inclusive post secondary educational initiative at the University of Regina.
