Abstract

Between 2016 and 2018, more than 9,000 Canadians lost their lives due to opioid overdose, according to the Government of Canada. Taking a proactive approach, this January, the Campus Security's 16 permanent staff and two casual workers took NARCAN training. NARCAN (naloxone HCl) Nasal Spray is the first and only FDA-approved nasal form of naloxone for the emergency treatment of an opioid overdose.
