There are all sorts of measuring tools to quantify success. For academic researchers, the h-index gives an estimate of the importance, significance and broad impact of a scientist’s cumulative research contributions. According to Google Scholar, University of Regina Computer Science professor Dr. Yiyu Yao has an h-index of 60, meaning that each of his top 60 publications has been cited in at least 60 papers. In all, he has been cited more than 13,000 times.
