Abstract

Contemporary adult and youth criminal code provisions that define and determine a crime and its punishment are based on a 200-year-old system for ensuring safe communities and social and economic order. It’s time for a revision, says the U of R’s Professor Hirsh Greenberg, who believes the maxim, “do the crime, do the time” is an outdated approach to justice.
