Abstract

Princess Diana created a new level of interest in the British monarchy around the world. Her celebrity status, her falling out with the royal family, and her divorce from the Prince of Wales were eagerly reported by the media and avidly followed by millions. However, more than anything, it was Diana's death that provoked an outpouring of the people's love for her.
