    Abstract
In the entry below student Jenna Cannon writes about an upcoming student-led geology trip to Iceland: Iceland is a country of great interest for many geologists. It is a place where many of the geological processes we learn about can be seen firsthand. After talking to a few professors in the geology department, it was evident that travelling to Iceland would be the experience of a lifetime. Dr. Ian Coulson had spent some time there and suggested it as a must see. Also, Dr. Stephen Bend had been working with geothermal energy and has great interest in Iceland’s renewable resources. So when a few geology students came to the decision to plan a trip, Iceland was our first choice.
