Abstract
Mengxuan Qui has received the inaugural University of Regina International President’s Scholars Award. Dr. Vianne Timmons presented a cheque for $15,000 to Mengxuan, at a ceremony at the President’s Office. The award goes to the undergraduate international student with the highest admission average among eligible students. Mengxuan graduated from Concord High School in Shen Zhen, China, with a 92.6 per cent average. “This is a very special day for me, because it’s the first time I have won an award. This will make a big difference for my education,” she says. Mengzuan arrived at the University of Regina in 2013 as an English as a Second Language student. Now she is enrolled in the Visual Arts program, and says she would like to design jewelry after she graduates.
