Abstract

The Faculty of Fine Arts is honouring the memory of Michele Sereda. The Faculty is setting up the ‘Artist in Residence for Socially Engaged Practices’ and is seeking applicants. Sereda was killed in a highway crash in Saskatchewan that also took the lives of four others February 10. She was in a vehicle with three people including Lacy Morin-Desjarlais, an artist who taught powwow class at the U of R. Sereda graduated from the University of Regina in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in theatre. She made immense contributions to the arts community. Sereda was the co-founder and artistic director of Curtain Razors Theatre in Regina. She received the U of R Theatre Department's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011.
