Abstract

Calling it a “permament reminder of how inclusive we are,” Dr. Vianne Timmons, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Regina, helped unveil the Pride flag on campus, June 17. President Timmons officially unveiled the flag in the Riddell Centre, alongside Dr. Dennis Fitzpatrick, Chair of the University of Regina Faculty Association. “The Pride flag will remain as a permanent display,” President Timmons announced to a crowd gathered for the ceremony. The ceremony was held in conjunction with Regina’s Queen City Pride week - an annual, week-long celebration of the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer) community of Regina and the greater region of Southern Saskatchewan. President Timmons and other members of the campus community will be taking part in many of the week-long events.
