    Abstract
A key foundation of Regina’s cultural life began 80 years ago this month at Regina College, now known as the College Avenue Campus. In January 1936 the art collection of Norman MacKenzie was put on display for the first time. The collection, estimated to be worth $100,000 at the time, created a big buzz in the city.
