I'm very glad and very honoured to be here tonight. Some of the best connections I ever made were at the library and so your conference theme suits me just fine. However, I must say, I was a little intimidated by the background information that was sent to me when I accepted the engagement. It states quite clearly that, "The [Mary Donaldson Memorial] lectures are given annually by leaders in the field of library science."
