Abstract

The University of Regina will host an important discussion on the movement toward Kurdish independence in the Middle East on January 24. In partnership with the South Saskatchewan Branch of the Canadian International Council, the Faculty of Arts will present Keeping Up With The Kurds: The Drive Toward Self-Determination in the War-Torn Middle East’. Presented by Dr. Chris Kilford, Fellow with the Queen’s University Centre for International Defence and Policy, the talk will explore the challenges facing the Iraqi Kurdish people, who are often referred to as “the largest ethnic group without a state”.
