The University of Regina is gearing up to welcome alumni and friends to campus for homecoming. The Alumni Homecoming Weekend is scheduled for late-September and is part of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Regina College - the forerunner of the University of Regina.

The University is celebrating its outstanding history by hosting events throughout the centennial year and paying tribute to all those who have contributed to the success of the University of Regina. The Alumni Homecoming Weekend is one such centennial event.

"This will be an amazing weekend," says President of the University of Regina Alumni Association (URAA), Richard Kies.

"Organizers are planning a weekend of fun September 29 to October 1 that will feature a pancake breakfast, a Rams football game, art show, opportunities for graduates to return to the classroom and the Alumni Crowning Achievement Awards Dinner," Kies says.

Additionally, the University's faculties and departments and the URAA are planning fun events that will run throughout the weekend, adds Brenda Oliver, manager of alumni relations at the University. "This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the campus and reconnect with friends, colleagues and the University - and, let's not forget, to eat a slice of birthday cake!"

The University's alumni now number over 58,000.

All alumni and friends are invited to come home. For more information or to register, visit:
