5 programs to take advantage of as a University of Regina student

Navigating from high school to a larger University campus can be challenging. Here are 5 programs to help you make the most out of your university years at the U of R.
1. Academic Counselling (guidance and support)![]() |

Need help mapping out which classes to take for your program or what to major in? The Student Success Centre is here to ensure your academic success. Prospective or current students can email their questions to academic.advising@uregina.ca.
Current Students can also join a free drop-in academic counselling zoom session!
Zoom Drop-Ins
Zoom drop-in advising is available Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (excluding stat holidays).
You will be admitted to a waiting room and given access to speak to the advisor on an individual and confidential basis in the order you were admitted to the waiting room (length of wait depends on number of people ahead of you). If you join during the scheduled times, you will be seen - even if it is later than the scheduled end time of the session. You will be advised in the Zoom chat if there is an exception to this.
Morning Zoom Room (M-F 10:00 am-11:30 am): Access the Zoom room with meeting ID 986 0401 4146.
Afternoon Zoom Room (M-F 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm): Access the Zoom room with meeting ID 928 6594 8522.
If you are unable to submit your questions via zoom or email, please call 306-585-4899 and leave a voicemail including your name, student ID number, phone number, and your questions.

The UR Guarantee Program will support you through every step of your university experience to successful employment. UR Guarantee students have an advisor that can help with all aspects of University life including:
- academic counseling;
- resume writing tips;
- mock interviews;
- scholarship opportunities;
- relevant volunteer experience; and,
- personal goal setting.
Newly admitted or transfer students with 30 credit hours or less of post-secondary classes are eligible to join. If you complete all elements of the UR Guarantee program and do not secure career-related employment within six months of graduation, you will be eligible to come back for another year of undergraduate classes free of charge.

Approximately 99.5 per cent of students who have completed the UR Guaranteed Program have found career-related employment within six months of graduation!

Get experience, get paid, and get hired!
For more than 50 years, the University's Co-operative Education and Internships Program, or Co-op Program, has provided valuable paid work placement experiences for thousands of U of R students.
Co-op students alternate work and study semesters for the last three years of their program or complete an internship between their third and fourth year of study.
- Average four-month salary for a U of R Co-op student - $12,400.
- 50+ U of R Programs have Co-op work placements available!

4. UR International - Study Abroad Program

Please note that due to COVID-19, all Study Abroad Exchange programs will be held virtually for the Spring/Summer and Fall 2021 terms. 5. Student Varsity Clubs and Intramurals![]() |
Get the most out of your university |
Did you know that there are many competitive sport clubs or recreational Intramurals teams you can join at the University of Regina?
The Varsity Club Athletic Sport Clubs include triathlon, ultimate Frisbee, rugby, synchro, dance, cheerleading, curling, rowing and softball. Interested in joining a club? Check out the Varsity Club page here.
With COVID-19 restrictions lifted - some of these intramural sports are anticipated to resume for Fall 2021 semester.
Participating in recreational intramurals is also a great way to meet other students, hang out with friends and catch some physical activity on campus. Stay tuned on the Intramurals website for an upcoming Fall schedule and information on how to register.
